You may make your videos super entertaining, engaging and educational, use the BEST MUSIC, BEST HASHTAGS, post at the BEST TIME but if nobody is watching past the 3 second mark then you may never achieve your goals. The ONE skill you are missing is mastering the HOOK.

The 4 GOLDEN formulas for the BEST hooks:

  1. HYPE: using highly emotive words like ‘unbelievable’, ‘shocking’, ‘surprising’, ‘unexpected’, etc is going to capture attention
  2. LIST: Create a list of X things, ie: reasons, places, websites, tricks, hacks, mistakes, tips, myths (Keep them to max 5 ideally 3! Too many on the list and people won’t watch till the end)
  3. CURIOSITY: Including the word ‘this’ in your hook: ‘This is why…’, ‘This is what…’, ‘This is how…’ raises viewer’s curiosity to find out what the ‘this’ is
  4. DATA: Hooks like: ‘how I achieved X in Y months’ or hooks that mention percentages, amounts of money or counts of any kind tend to attract more left-brain thinkers
